Were you the only one in your family born to have a disability? Have you ever had thoughts about why only God gave you a disability and not to any of your other family members?
I have wondered that quite a few times in my life. I just could never put a finger on it on how I got 22q from both my parents who were/are very healthy and how I was the firstborn and only child out of 3 other kids in the family with a disability. These are good and okay questions to ask when this happens to yourself. This isn't always easy to understand when you are put in this situation and sometimes we may ask God why He did this. I have not necessarily mentioned this to anyone but some things I have heard are..
"Maybe God has given you this disability for a reason",
"Maybe God has entrusted you with your disability and story to help others" or...
"What the devil used for pain God uses for your good"
Those are some things people have told me in the past. That always made me think whenever people told me those things. Because maybe God has given us given us our disability, challenges or weak spots in our lives for a reason.
Some things that God has placed in ourselves or in our lives we may not always understand but we should know that there's a purpose for everything in our lives. We can choose how we feel about the challenges God has given us. We can either be mad at God because of the disability/challenges that God has given us it doesn't even have to be a disability. Maybe you have a sickness or disease and you don't know why God has given it to you or maybe you have cancer on can't walk. Whatever it may be you can either be frustrated about it all the time or thank God for what He has given you because "His power is made perfect in our weakness" 2 Corinthians 12:9
or
"God has chosen the foolish things of the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to shame the things which are strong," 1 Corinthians 1:27
